Green Thumb Sunday 9th September

Sorry for the delay in posting: I was working Saturday and away Sunday!I haven't really done anything much in the garden except water since last week! Oh, I forgot, I planted two clumps of prairie grasses which look lovely swaying in the wind - and sealed a leak in my birdbath!

I have been given a beautiful garden log book to help plan my gardening over the season. I'm really looking forward to using this lovely book over the weeks and months, especially during the winter! I took a photo of it surrounded by plant labels and seed packets! It has space for photos and lists - perfect. How do you all plan your future gardening?

The other picture is from Sonoma County Fair display of competition gardens... I think this must be a librarian's garden and as I'm a librarian I couldn't resist it!

Love the Librarian's garden...beautiful flowers and books...what a perfect place to spend a Summer's Day. I'm afraid our garden evolved rather than was planned. I do often think though (now that I have more gardening knowledge) that I'd love to have a blank canvas and actually layout and plan the garden properly.

G'day from Australia,

Came here from Ruth's blog and thoroughly enjoyed your look and presentation and editorial approach.

I enjoy gardening as well. Have to work out a way of writing a gardening novel next!

Do keep in touch

Cheers

David

Hi CG,

Saw your comment on Mrs Nesbitt's post about `The Highwayman' poem. It was one that my mother taught me when I was very young - and has always been in my top four or five favourite poems of all time.

Keep smiling

David

The librarians garden is pretty cool. For a second I thought you'd made it in photoshop.
