Green Thumb Sunday

Some of my favourite things in the garden...

The marsh marigold growing in the pond...past its best now but still lovely.

The ivy that covers an old gate completely and is now growing up one of the hawthorn trunks....

The hawthorn itself; hedge and tree. Especially wonderful when in flower.

We got some rain today; good news for the garden!

Hope everyone has a wonderful gardening Sunday!

Oops! when you first asked me to name the yellow flower I didn't cotton on to the fact it was in the pond! This is in fact Caltha (Marsh Marigold)not Celandine....they are all part of the same family (Ranunculaceae)though.

Love the double-headed marsh marigolds in your pond. In Scotland, when the May blossom(which is that of the hawthorn) is out, only then are we supposed to be in cooler clothing...ne'er cast a clout, till the May is oot!
